Moving high value cars with alloy wheels often carry with it the risk of damage to the alloys. This is a simple expedient that is recommended by the likes as: Bentley, Ferrari, Nissan (for GTR) and similar.
When strapping the wheels, foam pads positionedon the shoulder of the tyre can provide the required clearance to avoid any wheel damage.
The pads can be made from 160mm squared sections of the Unipart laying down mat (part No. TMITMOMAT). This material is dense enough to hold the straps away from the wheel and durable enough for repeat useage.
Position the foam pads so the wheel straps do not contact the wheel trim.
